CO-OP PROGRAM WITH FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY IN NYC — With this cooperative program, you can specialize with one among seven majors: accessories design, promoting and communications, advertising design, fashion design, manufacturing management, textile/floor design, and textile improvement and marketing. The International Fashion Business Management Program in Florence and New York—the one certainly one of its kind—allows students to take one year of their bachelor’s program at FIT and one 12 months at the Polimoda International Institute of Fashion Design and Marketing in Italy. In addition, the department participates in the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) Visiting Student Program (located in New York City). The Fashion Promotion concentration is enhanced with courses in related fields comparable to, Fashion Show Production, Visual Merchandising and Communications.
Field journeys, guest audio system, pupil organizational actions (Visual and Apparel Merchandising Organization), trend productions and occasion planning, travel research, and examine abroad programs enhance the great curriculum and contribute to a robust basis in retail customer service in a wide range of positions including retailer manager, purchaser, visual merchandiser, display director, vogue show coordinator and fashion mall director.
No additional requirements for admission to the Department of Dietetics, Fashion Merchandising and Hospitality, or division choices, exist beyond the college admission requirements as listed in the Western Illinois Undergraduate Catalog Interested students are encouraged to consult with the university catalog and the Office of Admissions located in Sherman Hall.

After predicting future vogue developments, trend merchandisers will also determine which fashions and garments that a specific store should inventory.
